Chicago/New York

Hey friends, I just got back from a business trip/vacation! I spent a week in Chicago and a week in New York. Both cities were incredible to visit. I had such a great time, saw so much jewelry and art, met new friends, caught up with old friends, ate a ton of delicious vegan food, and relaxed. I feel recharged and excited to be home and get back to work. I feel so inspired by all the art I saw, and have a ton of new ideas. I’d say the vacation was a success in so many ways.

I went to Chicago for the SNAG (Society of North American Goldsmiths) conference. I went to a bunch of lectures, mostly artists lectures, but also some about running a business, education, students, the future of SNAG, and art in general. I learned so much, and felt re-energized about my role as the SMG (Seattle Metals Guild) Lecture and Workshop Committee chair. I really want to bring new ideas and more diversity to the lecture series we put on every year. In Chicago I went to a lot of jewelry galleries and shows, walk around and did touristy things, and went to the Field Museum. The dance party on the last night was a blast too.

Sorry I had to take a tourist pic at the bean 😋

After staying up pretty late my last night in Chicago, I caught a 6:30 am flight to New York. I hadn’t been to New York in about 10 years, and one of my good friends lives there, so I figured, if I was already that close, I was just going to take another week off and go to NYC! It was fantastic. I went to 4 museums, at least 10 jewelry galleries/stores, a few night clubs, and hung out in central park. I think I walked an average of 10 miles a day. I’m not even kidding. My favorite museum was MAD (Museum of Art and Design). They had a great show of futuristic jewelry that really inspired me. Plus, a few people I knew had work in it, so that was really special.

Oh look! It’s the Brooklyn Bridge

If you follow me on Instagram, hopefully you got to see some of my stories about everything I was up to on my trip. I’ll definitely be posting more photos to facebook and IG, so keep an eye out.

I’m just really happy that I had such an amazing trip, and so glad to come home to a city I love and get back to making jewelry.

New Locations!

Hey friends,

I’m super excited to announce that as of today I’m selling my work in 3 new locations! Woohoo! Y’all this has been a long time coming and I’m so happy I can share it with you. Didn’t want to share too soon and jinx anything. Here they are:

Danaca Design is a wonderful jewelry school/gallery. They teach classes and workshops, have other events, sell a ton of beautiful hand-crafted local jewelry, and even sell some jewelry tools. So happy they invited me to sell my work!

The Frye Art Museum store is so cool! They have all sorts of handmade goods, jewelry, household decor, and gifts. Plus the museum is free admission and has really great shows. Please go check it out! (Also, let me know if you do cause I’m so down for a field trip)

Fircrest Jewelers is an amazing jewelry shop near Tacoma specializing in handmade custom jewelry. Plus I used to work with one of the owners, Joe. Really awesome people and beautiful jewelry.

So yeah, please go check out my work at these places. And keep an eye on my locations page because there are more to come! If you own a shop, or have a recommendation for a shop you think my jewelry would fit in at, please please please let me know! I’m really looking to expand right now, especially outside of Seattle. Thank you so much! And thank you to all the shops who already support me and my jewelry!

Living the Dream

I just made this collection of 3 necklaces for a show at the Bellevue Arts Museum for a show called “Everyone has a story”

The Seattle Metals Guild Exhibition Committee is seeking entries for Everyone Has A Story, an SMG show featuring narrative works, talismans, and other jewelry/small objects by our members, in the BAM Shop at Bellevue Arts Museum. This show will run in the store at the same time as Ron Ho: A Jeweler’s Tale, a retrospective of Ron’s incredible career.

This is my story. It is a series of 84 hand-cut sterling silver letters forming 3 necklaces. It took 37 hours of my life. I can’t say I enjoyed every minute, but I’m proud of what I created, and feel like it reflect my intention and outlook on life.

“YEAH OKAY SURE WHATEVER FINE”

“WHAT AM I DOING WITH MY LIFE”

“I DONT WANNA STOP I CANT NO PLEASE DONT IDK NOPE”

My life has changed a lot in the last year. A year ago I had it all planned out. But now I’m not so sure. In some ways I’m doing exactly what I want to be doing. In some ways I’m not. “What am I doing with my life” is not a question. It’s a thought. These are all thoughts that race through my head on a daily bases. People who know me say I have my shit together for 26 years old, but I don’t know. I just do things that make sense to me and hope for the best. Living the dream.

Sterling Silver. Hand cut letters. Chains are 74, 56, and 40 cm long. Hand fabricated April 2019 in Seattle WA.
